Pour the milk in a large pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat. In a small pot boil rinsed rice with 1-1/2 cup water until the rice cooked.
Add cooked rice into the large pot and let it simmer with milk over medium heat. Stir well.
Mix corn starch with 1/4 cups of water until it’s smooth. Add vanilla.
Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pot and continue stirring. Cook for 5 minutes and fill ovensafe dessert cups or clay cups with the rice pudding (sütlaç). Place them in a large baking tray and bake until nicely browned about 15-20 minutes.
